"Even though we know it's inevitable, we never expect to suddenly lose close friends and collaborators," Cooper said in a statement. "Dick Wagner and I shared as many laughs as we did hit records. He was one of a kind. He is irreplaceable. His brand of playing and writing is not seen anymore, and there are very few people that I enjoyed working with as much as I enjoyed working with Dick Wagner."

Until a few weeks ago I'd never met Jim Marshall. I knew his work, and his legendary ways, but until we both were on the panel with Graham Nash to launch the Taking aim book and Exhibition, our paths had not crossed. Jim was friendly and sociable and I'm glad I finally met him before he and his beloved Leica left us. But with the picture at the left the legendary persona of Jim showed when the pressing of the shutter was taking too long he uttered the immortal words "Just take the f****** picture". A lasting final memory of a real character!

Ringo Starr and Dave Stewart and band launched Liverpool 8 at the House Of Blues in Hollywood at lunch time today, January 25th. They played 4 songs including Liverpool 8, With A little Help From My Friends, Photograph and Boys while Ringo playing the drums. Live with an audience the energy (at 1pm!) and sound was great, 1oo% better than the Larry King performance the same day with poor sound.
